My child took an SAT practice test for free with one of the national test prep chains; she scored less than a 400 on the Math section. She is an excellent student (and was just recommended for Honors Pre-Calc for next year) but has a learning disability and is missing some fundamental skills in addition to SAT strategy. We would like to help her work on strengthening her basic math skills before starting a pre program. Any good books or programs to use? Thanks!

@wa7945 Aops.com should help her fundimentals. Get the introduction books.

She should go over her practice test (which should have been a real released old SAT) and try to figure out the origin of the incorrect answers. In other words, is it actual subject knowledge (of algebra and geometry), test taking skills (guessing tactics, time management, using the “plugging in the answers” method, etc.), or something related to a learning disability?

Whatever the answer is, it will affect the preparation methods.

A 400 on mat indicates quite a bit of subject knowledge problems. You get 200 points free so…
