Best reason for appeal?

For people that will appeal, what’s your reason for appeal that you’ll include in your appealing letter?

(wrong SAT score, wrong grades, wrong ACT scores, wrong info, etc… doesn’t count)

what do you mean by “wrong”???

incorrectly reported test score

Oh, so you’re saying that the fact that you incorrectly reported information about yourself is not a valid argument for appeal?

DID you incorrectly report something?

Well, it is a valid reason for appeal, but I don’t what to know about it. I want to know other reasons beside that.

And I did not incorectly report my info.

The best things to use as arguments when appealing are improvements in your grades, extracurriculars, etc.
Are your senior year grades better? Do you have any teachers that you know would write you an excellent letter of rec? [Those are really important because they offer a more personal evaluation of candidates for admission - not merely statistical reasons why a student should now be reevaluated]

Also, I didn’t know that schools would reconsider students if they misreported something on their application such as grades, or test scores.

That’s rather refreshing. Are you sure?

check this out: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/AppealsFr.htm</a>
(Submitting an Appeal No.3)

The UC’s do not want to see your senior year grades, whether they have improved or not. They do want to see a concrete form of evidence that supports the letter you send in.

If test scores were incorrectly reported (first off, you could have checked them online during the app process - which they wanted you to do), make sure you send in the official test scores along with a reason they should reconsider you. If the school is your first choice, make sure they know that.

I posted this on another thread, but if you send one appeal to one campus (ex. Davis) an another appeal to another campus (ex. LA), the campuses will not know that you sent out 2 appeals. Just FYI.

that’s not true. a friend of mine appealed to cal and the admissions officer told her that the reason she did not get in was because her senior grades did not show improvement.
