since the ratty will be closed till the 23rd, I want to have food at restaurants I’ve never been to. What are your favorites? I don’t wanna go to Antonio’s anymore. Too fed up

If the Chinese food truck is around for lunch, definitely hit that up. Geoff’s is good on Tuesday (2 for 1) but otherwise it’s a little overpriced. Happy Dumpling is delicious but sometimes just a little too greasy, but it’s cheap. Gordito Burrito is ok…worth a try. I’d try something besides their burritos though. Bagel Gourmet Ole has pretty good bagel sandwiches. Shanghai is ok for take out chinese, but I think it’s a little too expensive. Chinese Food Truck is so much better. Spike’s is great and cheap.

Don’t forget Kebab and Curry, which is by far the best on Thayer.

Right! Sorry, yeah, I was thinking more of the cheap snacky places rather than real restaurants, but Kebab and Curry is delicious. Mmmm.

Kebab and Curry is really good. When we visited, the nan and tandoori chicken were good choices.

Yes! Indian food! I could go for a mango lassi right 'bout now. Awww man, this fob is really excited!

is the ivy room and blue room open for lunch on tuesday?

I like the meetingstreet cafe (that’s what its called, right? haha)

I believe the ivy room and blue room will be open for lunch but you won’t be able to use your meal plan there, only cash. And note that the Ivy Room will not be open at night until wednesday.

Spikes all the way!

East side pockets is mad good, plus there’s the creperie and subway

This is slightly unrelated, but does anyone know the main pizza places on Thayer? When I visited Brown, I ate at a really nice, small pizza place on Thayer but can’t remember the name. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help! :)

There are two: Antonio’s and Nice Slice. Antonio’s is far superior.

Via via is also off thayer.

oh right, I forgot about that. It’s pretty decent for Mafia run pizza places, but Antonio’s is still the best pizza on thayer.

Thanks for the replies, guys! The names don’t ring any bells, but I remember that the restaurant I ate at was on Thayer St itself. There’s a long counter straight ahead when you walk in (which is where you order), and another one directly across from it with stools and a mirror, and there are tall circular tables around the entrance.

I hope my description isn’t too confusing! :)

sounds like antonios to me…?

That’s what I thought, too…thanks, thequaker! :)

yeah, you’re definitely describing antonio’s

lol no one likes johnny rockets? ya i know its a food restaurant chain but its one of the much better chains i believe.
