Best SAT IIs to take for a well-rounded student?

I’m planning on buying material to study for SAT subject tests to take in the fall, but I honestly don’t know which tests to take. I’m pretty good at every subject when I put in effort. I’m looking at Brown, as well as top LACs such as Vassar, Swarthmore, and Whitman. I’m interested in a ton of subjects and I’m not really sure what I want to major in. I’ve taken this year:

IB inorganic chem (organic is next year)
IB history of the americas (up through world war 1, the rest is next year)
IB english
IB SL mathematics (some calculus and probability)
IB Spanish 4

(A’s in all of them)

I took world history last year and bio two years ago, but I don’t think I remember enough to take those tests

I’m the kind of person who, with enough studying, could do well on any of them. So which ones will look best to colleges? Or which ones will I do best on based on my courses? Thanks :)

I would probably take Chem (you could learn the organic on it in like a week or less if you REALLY wanted to), Math II and/or US. Possibly Spanish if IB happens to be a lot better than AP is in my school. I would get one of those books from the College Board with one of each test just to make sure you’re capable of each test (i.e., if you get a 500 on one of practice tests and 650s in the others, you’ve just eliminated a test). Keep in mind you can only take 3 SAT IIs in one session and it’s really not worth it to take more unless you find out a school you’re applying to requires a specific one you haven’t taken.

Definitely US, it’s just memorization and if you put in enough time you can get a good score. If you feel like you’re an “English person” I recommend the literature SATIIs. You’ll probably score well on them if you do well on crit reading.

Is the english lit multiple choice or essay? I’m a really good analytical writer but the CR multiple choice tests trip me up

The english one is the hardest subject test. DON’T DO IT!

Do math level 2, a history and a language. That seems pretty round to me :)

Oooh, it’s just mc. If you get tripped up by CR probably not a good choice then. But I still think US.

actually, judging by my scores released today, I didn’t get tripped up by CR nearly as much as I thought I did, a 740

Based on flipping through some of the practice tests in the test prep books at barnes and noble today, my best bets (based on what I felt comfortable with) are definitely US history and math II, and then probably english or maybe chemistry. Which prep book brand would you guys recommend?
