Does anyone know what the best schools for history education are, where they’re located, etc.? I’d like to teach high school history or government courses, and I’m having trouble deciding on a school. Thanks.

Your own state flagship or similar is likely best for history education.

What state are you in?

What are your stats?

How much will your parents pay?

I’m located in Florida, which has one of the worst education systems. I’d much rather go out of state. I have Florida Pre-Paid, which can transfer to an out of state school, and some scholarship money. I can expect them to contribute around $10-15,000 each year at the most.

Decent stats:
Highest ACT Composite score - 32.
Rising junior, yet to take SAT, PSAT index score of 171 this October as a sophomore. I’ve been taking some online tests, read a few books, and my composite is around a 210 now, enough to be a National Merit Scholar in my state.
400 community service hours or so.
Only real thing that’s hurting me, is my 3.8 GPA. That’s factoring in the extra weight from honors/AP courses.
Also have around 12 credits from AP tests.

Florida does NOT have one of the worst college education systems. Do not confuse K-12 education with college education…they’re nothing alike.

You’re lucky to have the pre-paid.
However, it will only pay a certain rate…similar to instate Florida publics …it won’t cover OOS tuition charged by OOS publics nor will it cover a private. Find out exactly how much it will cover.

What scholarship money do you have?

Ask your parents if they’ll pay $10-15k…so you’ll know for sure. :)

Keep studying for the PSAT. :)

your ACT will also help you get scholarship money a t a few schools. :)
