Best sounding wireless speaker / environment

We gave up our old stereo / receiver system in favor of a soundbar (Sonos) and some play:1 surround remotes. The sound for music just isn’t as good as my old speakers. What do people recommend for listening to streaming music? I’d like something that works with Amazon & Apple music.

Google home?
Apple homepod ?
A receiver with a bluetooth or sonos connect?

You’ll never replicate the old receiver/ speaker combo. The jbl and beats wireless speakers seem pretty good sound wise. But I have had one jbl completely die in about 2-3 years and the replacement has to go back because It has 2 hrs battery life when it should have 12.
