Looking to grab some wrapping paper and other supplies in the morning. Where are you heading to? Hubby is hitting Walmart and Home Depot for various things, I thought I could check out a couple other stores.

Also looking for a small, lightweight, unique wreath for D to hang (with a command strip) next year in her dorm. I have not seen anything so far I thought she would like, so am thinking Stein Mart, Kirklands, Hobby Lobby??

Have seen no advertising about store opening hours for tomorrow, and the websites I have checked don’t have any mention of special hours.

Michaels usually has good wreaths on sale.

You couldn’t pay me to go shopping on December 26 now. I used to do that before kids…and would even stand on line at 7 am at the local Hallmark store.

Oh my. I remember doing that when I was young… I already bought a bunch of stuff at Macy’s discounted 60% plus my coupons.

If I’m lucky, there still will be a few cake samplers left at the local Neiman this weekend. One SA said their clearance would be 50% off in the store from 8-noon. Even if they offer me a nice mimosa and a free breakfast, I’m not driving there!

Hobby Lobby has fantastic Christmas deals! I second the post above about the wrapping paper. You can likely find colors that will work for all year round.

Thanks to all who shared. I’m heading out, and will add Hobby Lobby to my destinations. Bunsen, thanks for linking several wreaths. I am looking for something much more lightweight, non-traditional, twig based vs the fake greenery. No nails allowed in D’s dorm room, so something small and lightweight that can be held up with a command strip hook is what I’m shooting for.

Glad you asked. I’m looking for a new artificial tree. Ours is sad looking. But not willing to pay big bucks. Where would you go to find a nice looking one on clearance? If I remember correctly, the days after Christmas sales start at 50% off but later go to 75%

All of the bigger stores will discount their trees. Unfortunately, the longer you wait, the less the selection! We got ours at a garden center one year in January…$300 tree for 90% off. Not bad!

Our Home Depot, Lowes, Target all still had a bunch of artificial trees left. Even at 50% off, that’s a good deal.

I will never set foot in a Hobby Lobby due to their distasteful discriminatory attitude towards Jews. Please don’t give them one cent of your hard earned money.

I think for twigs etc. she (or you) could assemble her own from things found at Michaels etc. Or maybe Pottery Barn has something that would work? They had tiny led battery operated lights that could be used on a homemade wreath. Or this could be made into a wreath! :)

Had great luck skipping the biggest box stores and got in and out at several smaller specialty stores. Bought 3 wreaths (well, 2 wreaths and a third garland with accessories to make our own wreath) and got them home for D to choose from.

She chose the twig and red berry wreath from Kirkland’s for $7.50. Home now and done for the day.

(And very appreciative for my sweet H who got up at dawn to hit Walmart and get the basics for us.)
