<p>According to my EE friend, you don’t have to choose a specialization until junior year. Before then, you take classes to narrow it down and see what you like. It’s pretty hard to go in already knowing what you want to do, and it will probably change a couple times anyway. Some orgs also hold lectures and things, so that would help you decide.</p>
