Just looking through the schedule of classes, and I’m interested in taking Making Myths: Telling Truths with Bernstein. At CI I heard that Write Lola Write with Freidman is a really great class. Just wondering others experiences and opinions of the best profs and topics of UW20…

On a similar note - my “S” has noticed that several of the UW sections are either full or close to full. How can this be since UW is a freshman only course and no freshman registers until Thurs at the earliest?

It the registrar “saving” certain sections of UW to open each registration period. Even Honors doesn’t get to register early until next semester.

Appreciate any thoughts.

i took a uw on baseball in america…best class ever…the professor is callahan…really good professor, but he also teaches other classes besides the basbeall class including one on satire…freidman is a good one too…

as for some of the classes being full already, my opinion is that dont really pay too much attention to what classes it says are full and not full until u actually log in on class registration day bc that is when u get the most up to date classes…

but just an fyi, there are more ways than you would think why some students will be able to sign up for classes early…in addition to honor students, athletes get priority class registration as well

Well this really weird…I had Callahan’s baseball class as one of my back ups, but now the class is not on the registration site.

I took “Scriptures and Constitutions” with Malone-France. Hands down one of my favorite professors at GWU. His class was actually pretty tough, and a lot of the reading material was kind of dry, but I LOVED DMF! He’s an awesome professor!

I wanted to take baseball as well. For those who have taken it, is it worth waiting until the spring to see if it will be offered then?

Also has anyone taken “Radically Rewriting America”?

My son emailed Callahan. He is no longer teaching at GW and the baseball class has been replaced with the Western Film course.

Just remember that since all freshmen have to take UW20, only half of them will realistically be able to get into a class in the fall. Don’t panic if you can’t get in…you’ll be guaranteed to get into a section of UW20 in the spring.

DMF and Scriptures & Constitutions - best UW class.
The stuff is certainly more difficult then your average UW but honestly DMF is nice and super cool so as long as you try, you’ll get an A and you will for sure learn something and really walk away from the class with a great appreciation of his teaching style.

Riley’s class on technology is great. He lets you dictate the structure of the class and grading is not hard. Topic is dry and boring, and often never read what was assigned but his style of teaching and the papers make up for lectures.
