Best UD ECON and POLI courses at UCSD?

I have to take two under-grad upper Econ courses at UCSD, what do you recommend?

I’m not looking for easy. I’m looking for

*Stimulating and engaging. Gets you thinking. Like Econ 2 does with its introduction to game theory and risk aversion.

I don’t want any of the memorization and regurgitation crap I had to go through in Econ 1 and Econ 3, and many of my Poli courses.

I’m looking at Econ116, economic development. Has anyone taken it? Is it very information-heavy and regurgitative, or does it actually get you thinking?

What about Econ 109 (Game theory)?

Also I heard Econ 120A is one of the most useful courses in the job field or for grad school applications. What other courses do you recommend to take if interested in applying for graduate school?

Additionally, what Poli courses are worth taking? Again, I’m looking for classes that stimulate discussion and thinking, and aren’t just lots of intuitive information and regurgitation for the exam.
