D is taking AP Bio on Monday. What would be the best way to effectively use this weekend? She has NOT done any specific AP test reading. Books we have:

I would take a practice test, (I have Barrons, and they are fine), and then see what her weakest area is, and then study that. Reviewing the labs would be a good idea. Looking at detail information: Hormones, transcription/replication/translation, cell components, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, etc. Looking over general definitions would be a good idea as well.

do the MC in Barrons resemble the real thing?

just reading Barrons exclusively will be enough if she covers these topics you outlined in more depth? I have seen Cliffs being mentioned a lot in CC, is it good for a particular area?

unless cramming has really helped her in the past, don’t cram. Make sure she does the labs because a fair amount of MC questions and an essay prompt are devoted to this.

If she knows she’s weak in particular areas, then she needs to review those. Then moderately weak, then strong stuff. She should stop studying sunday by like 2 or 3. Let her rest and have a nice Mother’s Day with you. (Besides, after that point, she’ll start to freak out and become an insomniac Sunday night and be miserable in the morning.)

lovemom, this might be obvious but suggest review the answers to the tests in Barron’s and Cliffs - even on those questions she answered correctly.

Oh Mother’s Day went by with a take out lunch and reviewing Bio definitions from flash cards. she is weak in plants and photosynthesis and spent almost the entire weekend just doing these 2. she is good in genetics and the body systems so she hasn’t touched it. that’s making me nervous as these are much larger part of the content.

oh & hasn’t even started reviewing labs. she is the kind of person that does well with cramming, but it is driving me crazy. she reviewed only her wrong answers but she was confident on the ones she got right.
