Hello parents!

SSU has gotten a LOT of rain in the last few weeks. To make a long story short, my new pair of shoes that I bought over winter break are now pretty dingy.

I don’t know if I want to put them in the school washing machine for fear of breaking it. Is there another (easy and cheap) way I can clean them?

They’re just tennis shoes…canvas and rubber. (and yes, I have gone through LOTS of socks as well.)

Thanks in advance!

Just put them in the washing machine and then let them air dry. You will not break the machine. When I wash tennis shoes, I throw a couple of towels in to just so it doesn’t make as much noise.

Ditto what she said. I wash sneakers in the washing machine all the time. They will look brand new when you take them out.

Spraying them first with Spray N Wash or Shout and letting it soak for 15-20 minutes first really helps too. Make sure you air dry them. We do turn them upside down over a register. That speeds things up and doesn’t seem to shrink them.
