Best way to improve ACT Reading score?

Hello Forum,

I’ve been taking 1 ACT practice test for the past week (never taken any test or prep before this). I get around a composite score of 27-28, with my worst score being the reading section. I get roughly a 22-24 each time and this frustrates me as I LOATHE the reading section (especially the prose fiction section). Any tips to improve my reading score?

My D said she improved her ACT reading score by breaking the sections up. Don’t try to read 3 or 4 paragraphs at a time and then answer the questions.

Read the questions first and read each paragraph WHILE you’re scanning for key phrases or words that contain the answers to the questions.
