Best way to insure a laptop?

Son is now on his own, deep in TFA institute, and sensibly thinking (at my nudging before he left home) about insuring his laptop. I did a search on CC but didn’t find much or what I did applied to “College Student’s Insurance” which he no longer is…Does anyone have experience/advice about optimal ways for a young adult to get insurance for
computer
phone
maybe even renter’s insurance?

He is very independent and I am actually surprised he is asking for some advice…but maybe we are entering the phase where that will happen again? In any case, I have gotten excellent advice in the past from this forum so though I’d see what the collective wisdom might yield. Thanks for any and all advice.

He should get LoJack.
If it ever gets stolen they know where it is. Like a GPS for a computer.

We are looking into CSI insurance which was recommended here on CC
[CSI College Student Insurance - Instant Quote](http://www.collegestudentinsurance.com/)
Prices seemed reasonable and they seem to cover everything without a fuss.

But he is no longer a college student…and on quick review don’t see that he would qualify? He could decide to do the grad MAT that TFA offers, but that is not in place now and he’d like to get some coverage for now.
