Hi,

I was wondering what is the best way to learn vocab for the PSAT. Can you give a title of a good vocab builder book or a link to vocabulary online or any helpful tips? :)

Thank you very much

Sparknotes and/or direct hits have great SAT vocab. If you learn all the SAT vocab now, then you’ll be more than prepared for the PSAT (though the vocab is relatively easy on it) and you won’t have to waste time later in jr year studying it.

Thank you :)

Get vocab words from a variety of different sources, jot down words you encounter in the newspaper and don’t recognize, etc. Once you have a huge list, start defining ~30+ at a time and make a vocab list off of those words every day. Skim one list every day (intermittently throughout the day. Read the list thoroughly once, and then skim for several 5-10 minute periods) and at the end of each week review all of your vocab lists to make sure that you still remember them all.

Thank you :)

Well, the best way to learn PSAT vocabulary would be memorizing a dictionary, that’s what I did when I was in 8th grade, and before start memorizing the dictionary, you should get “The Hot Words for the SAT” first. BTW I’m going to become a sophomore this year.

lol… memorize the dictionary, really… then prove it by tellin me what verismilitude means. it was a recent PSAT word. btw, just momorize sat vocab, and psat looks like preschool

lol… memorizing the dictionary was like 2 years ago and I only got up to half of T.
