Hi.

I’d like to know colleges with the best/worst life/atmosphere. If your college is neither the best nor worst just rate them from scale of 1 to 100 and please add why

Thanks~

I go to UArizona, and it sort of depends what you’re looking for. I’m anti-drinking and anti-drugs, and I love going to clubs and cultural events. As such, I’m giving it 9/10 since I’ve managed to find what I want and never once come across anything I’m uncomfortable with. A partier could probably find what they want as well, but I don’t know. Probably not the absolute best college around for atmosphere, but I like it.

This depends entirely on what you want in a college atmosphere. For me, the best would be WashU or Stanford or a school like that, where the academics are rigorous and time-consuming but the student body knows how to have a good time. And by a good time I don’t mean partying (which is available anywhere) but student organizations, restaurants, cultural events, and university events.

The worst I can think of would be Arizona State or Penn State, where the partying is exceptionally prevalent and the academics can be lacking. But like I said - you can really find anything you want almost anywhere if you look hard enough; it comes down to what’s common and what’s less common.

^ Completely agreed.

If you’re looking for a small, residential college with rigorous academics where you live among extremely talented and interesting/high energy personalities, I’d say Pomona is a 9.5/10 (nothing is completely perfect!).

If you’re looking for a larger college, perhaps in a bustling city and with a bigger party atmosphere, where homework is rarely seen on a weekend, Pomona would be a 5/10.
