Northeastern’s Acceptance letter was online on my application portal.It was really nice, but I was too busy jumping up and down too read the rest, but i’m hoping to get an actual letter or package, but I doubt it considering that I am an international student.

Do schools send acceptance packages to international students or do they all use email for convenience?

Oh and the stories from everyone really got me excited for my other schools, hope they are acceptances and I hope i get a t-shirt or something. lol but all in all Northeasterns letter really made me feel special.

Same question as DMA017, I’ve received letters sent more than 2 months before I receive them… Still, having a physical acceptance letter would be amazing.

The best rejection letters include information about how hard it was to be admitted, how there was a big increase in applicants, etc.

Considering how many colleges play games with huge waiting lists, I imagine there are some waiting list letters that might be accused of giving students false hopes.

I got accepted into the University of San Francisco (my safety school) and after an email, they mailed me a single A4 sheet of paper with writing about how they look forward to seeing me in August etc No shirt :P

Their rejection letter has got to be the most arrogant dismissal. They were not impressed and they said so.
I would hope that all adcoms (I believe most do) would appreciate the work and resources each student and family commits.

sx44038, they sent acceptances to the top 4% of applicants in late January. Those notifications also told acceptees whether they were a finalist for the top merit scholarships.

My friends who haven’t been accepted yet got a letter in the mail detailing how there were still like 7000 more spots left, so don’t worry! There are still many acceptances to be sent!

The Lewis & Clark admissions officer sent me a handwritten card telling me how much she enjoyed reading my app about 3 weeks after I got the actual EA acceptance That was nice!

My safeties had odd acceptances-one had me call, the other one updated a website! I have yet to receive any mail telling me that I was accepted.

I loved USC’s acceptance-the certificate was a nice touch, and I began to cry a little when I saw “Welcome to the Trojan Family” on the folder.

D just received a letter which is not a rejection of admission, but a rejection of scholarship. It says “The admissions staff has made their recommendations for the scholarship program and has invited about 200 students to campus to interview” - next sentence is basically ‘you are not one of them’.
Ouch

CSU Long Beach doesn’t have a web portal to check admission status. You have to call and follow a branching automated phone system to get your status. Finally, my daughter heard the words, ‘A decision has been made regarding your admission.’ And then was directed to call the Admissions Office. She was so excited! After a long, breathless wait, they said, ‘Unfortunately, you were not accepted. We’ll send a letter soon. Goodbye.’ At least it was a real person, I guess. The letter arrived 2.5 weeks later and did not contain much more verbiage than the phone denial. :-{

Bryn Athyn has the best, not because of the letter, but because of the card inside that tells you to visit their website and select two t-shirts! One for you and one for a friend (lol).

When she was accepted to her top 2 art school choices, the adcom from one said “Would a t-shirt help you make up your mind?”. Well, of course it would! She got the shirt and ultimately chose that school, which was slowly edging out #2 anyway!
