yes Poseidon delivering UCSD’s 3D ‘Triton’ packet is pretty cool. my S commented today that ‘every college should do something like this.’

Rensselaers letter is decent

Got a rejection from Wesleyan today. Letter was definitely not a nice one. They thing was probably less tan 15 sentences and all day did was tell you that they looked at EVERYTHING in your file and STILL wouldn’t accept you.

Same for UChicago.
Also didn’t like Richmond telling me that if I magically earn $200,000 by May, they might consider extending their offer of admission again.
Colgate’s was pretty nice, though, made me not hate myself so much

Bryn Mawr’s acceptance folder is beautiful. It’s light blue and white and decorated with fancy “BMCS” :)

Their actual letter is pretty nice too, though it sounded a bit more like “please come to our school!” rather than “congratulations!” But the real zinger was the handwritten note from the admissions counselor in a tiny sealed envelope telling me how much I embodied the spirit of Bryn Mawr. Now THAT was awesome!

I’m looking forward to more acceptance packages in the mail soon!

I thought BC’s packet was very nice - big envelope with an all white, matte finish folder, embossed with the seal. It was filled with accepted students day information, financial aid, and a congratulatory letter.

I’ve felt that my rejection letters so far have been impersonal an sort of cold. They all basically have said that “this year was their most competetive year” and how they can only admit the “best and brightest.” None of them specifically commented on my application. My waitlists weren’t as bad.

UCLA’s rejection was pretty nice, but UCSD’s was definitely impersonal (something like “there were too many applicants, and you weren’t chosen.” in two sentences)

My acceptances were all really nice though! Some were impersonal online, but the letters were long in the acceptance packages. Yay

I agree with pinklemonade- Bryn Mawr’s was so nice. The handwritten note talked about my passion for social justice/activism and how that would make me fit in at BMC. American also personalized the letter (although to a lesser degree) about social activism. Anyway, those personal touches were nice.

Smith’s acceptance letter was kind of crappy (super short) but the packet that came in the mail today was nice. Lousy FA, though. Mount Holyoke’s was nice and they gave me crazy financial aid, which was so awesome. Brandeis’s was cute and sincere.

I maintain that the rejection letter from Tufts was the worst I’ve ever seen. I don’t want to copy and paste it because I can’t bear to reread it, but damn was it cold. I was EDII, too, so you would think they would at least try to be gracious since I clearly loved the school :/

American was really sweet! It talked about my passion and stuff, which I wrote about. Super sweet.

MHC’s online notification was pretty standard, but that’s okay because I’m happy!

Bard College acceptance was in a small envelop with a letter, and a red ‘do not disturb’ thing to put on your door… I thought I was rejected when I got it!

Ditto on Cal Poly Slo online rejected was just, “You have not been selected.” The letter 2 weeks later was nicer.

I agree with MissGen. American’s was so lovely. My parents loved how the letter talked about my ECs, and they also liked the AU bumper sticker included lol.

St Mary’s College of California’s was definitely the second best. My admit letter talked about how the adcoms shared my love of diversity and jazz music (something I mentioned in my essay), which I thought was really cool.

Drexel’s was so nice and neat. The postcards included were a plus, too.

San Diego State’s was nice, too. The color scheme kind of threw me off though.

U Oregon’s acceptance letter was in a regular-sized envelope so I thought I had been rejected lol.

I really liked Beloit’s acceptance - it commented on my ECs and on my class rigour. It was also signed in pen. :)

I honestly hate when they are so impersonal. The least they could do is not send a generic letter… Just a sentence or a few words would suffice. Some schools do it, and it is a nice added touch.

USC’s Thornton School of Music rejection letter = BEST THING I HAVE EVER READ.

“Please realize that the competition for admission to this program is extremely keen and we receive many more applications than we can accept.”

Keen? Definitely not the word they wanted to use. Obviously, this is from a school of music and not an academic school. I laughed way too hard when I read that.

UCLA’s acceptance was pretty sweet (:

I got wait listed at 2 schools, and one letter made me feel good about myself, while the other made me feel terrible.

Even after considering those definitions, I still believe that the word choice is extremely awkward but oh well, to each his own (:

Bard gave me a door hanger. What?

American University’s acceptance letter was easily the best I’ve gotten so far. It talked about my EC’s and I felt like they genuinely get me.

I’m majoring in International studies and the letter talked about how Globalization is important and how AU educates their students on the importance of having an international outlook.

Also, they wrote about how they like that i am an engaged and active student and that I would benefit from the AU community and contribute to it as well.

Overall it was just very touching and personal :)

I was accepted EA to UChicago, and in January my admissions officer sent me a handwritten new-years card that specifically referenced my admissions essay. :)

It was pretty cool.

Bard gives hangers? That’s cool!!! :)
