As I am going through the list of all the Writing 101 classes, I can’t decide which one to choose. Are there any courses that are better for pre-med to take?

To be honest, writing 20, I mean… writing 101 is a great opportunity to explore something outside of your intended major/pre-professional track. If you’re wired into everything related to medicine, you might find a few classes that are science/health related; otherwise, no one course is “best” for pre-meds.

In my experience the professor is the most important factor in having a good experience with writing 101. You can always explore pre-med related readings on your own; you won’t always have the opportunity to learn about writing from an expert.

^ I would second the above. In fact, I would argue that there are very few things in undergrad that you will learn that will come in handy in med school with the exception of perhaps orgo, bio, and biochem. Most of the med school requirements are there so you have a basic grounding in the sciences, can pass the MCAT, and can show that you are academic qualified for the medical school curriculum. Otherwise, do what interests you, keep your grades up, do extracurriculars, and make sure you satisfy all the minimum med school requirements and you’ll be fine.

Great advice! Thank you very much.
