Better curves to encourage?

I checked out my score report, and saw the specifics of how I did. I had left the test center on Oct. 10th content with how I did, because I knew I missed only a few for each section.
But when my score came out as 2240, I was surprised. I mean, I’m still happy, but I just had expected around 2300 or so.

I missed 5 on CR for a 740. 1 from Math for a 770. And 3 missed and a 10 essay for 730 on writing.

I’m guessing these curves were unusually harsh?

Would I have a better chance at a higher score if I were to take it again? (probably not in Oct.)

Or actually, should I retake it? Or would colleges kind of understand that although my numerical score isn’t outstanding, my raw score is a little better?

well technically your raw score only means as much as your scaled score becuase the curve is supposed to evaluate the difficulty of the exam… BUT… i agree with u dude its ******** no1s perfect even the best people are gonna miss a few and to put people in the lowest of the low 700 for missing less than 5 is really rediculous

Interesting. My son missed 4 on math for a 700. 2 on CR for a 760. Rather high curve for this test. Guess it must have been easy. Will be interesting to see how the ACT’s come out. He did not study, so he plans on retaking in March after studying. Maybe the curve will be better than.
