Better financial aid

Will Johns Hopkins offer me higher aid if my family’s financial status changed drastically since 2015 which is the year used for FAFSA.

Can you pick up some extra work? Mow lawns, babysit, etc. did you work this summer?

Your student contribution from summer warming is used to offset some of these cost as you are finding out, you need start up money

If you are working and can put in more hours cover shifts, I would recommend that you do so

I genuinely could not find an actual job this summer, most places on my town required me to be either 18 years or not have to leave in two months. I did mow lawns but that money went to buying clothes which I had very little and travel items, travel ticket, transportation from airport to school etc. I contacted the school just waiting for a response.

The details matter. Johns Hopkins will listen to your question and treat you respectfully, but they will not guarantee to provide you more aid. By “drastic” change in financial situation - do you mean your family income dropped from say $200K to $40K ? If you now qualify for a Pell Grant and you did not previously, they can certainly help. But if your income dropped from $180K to $160K, or if your savings account got depleted because you gave your bank account info to a former Nigerian Prince who wanted your needed assistance in transportation of royal lottery funds blah blah blah, don’t expect more than a courteous “sorry” on their part.

This student has a net cost of $700 a semester. Probably is getting full Pell plus a ton of other aid from JHU.
