Hi, I am a Senior who have committed to UIUC Statistics major and will add Economics major. My dream career is investment baking career and I’m not sure stat/Econ double major is enough to replace Finance major. Please hit me up with some advce. Thank you
Any Comments Please … ?
Investment banking is kind of a broad field (there are statisticians, economists, and finance majors in the field), and getting a job is more about academics, networking, and how you do in your interviews than your specific major. After a few years of work experience, you may want to get an MBA too, which will partially negate whatever your undergraduate major was. I work in investment banking, and I was an engineering undergrad.
Thanks Aire11. Then could you recommend any clubs to expose myself to investment banking field? And do I have to be in College of Business to apply to Investment Banking Academy at UIUC?
Sorry - I did not attend UIUC so I can’t be of help regarding the specific clubs there. Hopefully someone who knows better can help you with those questions.
It’s fine. Still, thank you so much Aire11
