There are a handful of D&P people on here who will answer any questions you have. There is one long-running thread here that has great info: Are there any theatre tech people here?
Does anyone have any information about Baylor’s BFA acting program? My daughter was accepted and really enjoyed the faculty during her interview/audition. She’s excited about the MT concentration (she’s also applying to schools for MT). My concern is that she’s very liberal and not at all religious. How much of a deal-breaker should that be?
Anyone know when Rutgers/Mason Gross School of the Arts will notify for acting? My girl did callback weekend, but can’t remember decision info (so much great information about the program, trying not to get hopes up, such a longshot with so many still in the running!)
Hi everyone! Waitlisted for DePaul here too Would it make sense to send in a LOCI if it’s one of my top choices? I don’t know what the protocol is with audition-based admissions, maybe they don’t use them.
My D is a first year in the Theatre Design department at Mason Gross. I believe we were told “by 4/1” last year but she heard much earlier. However, the call back weekend was 1/25-1/26 in 2020, so the timing is obviously different. I’m betting any time, though!
Congrats on the DePaul WL! My D just got a WL from Baldwin Wallace for Acting. Wanted to reply to you to chat about the LOCI. I think this is really important! Planning to advise my D to send one. My only concern is that financials are a big piece of the puzzle for us, so we can’t say something like, “If I come off the WL, I’ll commit,” because we’ll need to see the full financial package first. Wondering how to craft the best language. Thoughts?
Question- if a school with a very small acceptance rate, that you were still waiting on an answer for, sent an email asking a specific question regarding putting together their financial aid package, would you take that as a good sign or not a sign at all?
I wouldn’t read to much into it. Many schools all those systems run somewhat separately and you’ll drive yourself crazy trying to guess when there’s no way to know. Just keep all the balls moving, answer questions but don’t infer.
Lol, totally understand. We just tried to keep everything neutral until we saw an offer in writing! Even positive interactions, emails and calls, we tried not to get our hopes up until it was really real! Hang in there!
