Congratulations! I am curious about waitlists too. I feel like there should be some movement as people make their decisions. Fingers crossed for you and Rutgers!
Just to remind everyone, someone giving up a spot does not automatically trigger someone getting in from the wait list. Most programs have a little flexibility in numbers and accept extra assuming there will be at least a few no’s.
I am wondering the same thing. According to the College Confidential calendar, Boston U is releasing on Saturday the 22nd. No idea about Syracuse but I’m hoping soon!
Any insights on Elon BFA Acting, UNCSA Acting, PACE Acting? We are aware of rankings and curriculum, but really interested to hear from current students/parents on campus life at UNCSA, and job prospects/industry connections at all of them.
Happy to answer any questions about UNCSA. S21 is a 4th year drama student and had a wonderful experience
Feel free to message me or I can message you if you prefer
Does anyone have a timeline for when waitlist final decisions typically come out? Obviously they won’t be out before the deposit deadline, but has anyone ever heard early?
It really depends on the school, and the program. Most programs oversubscribe – for example, making offers to 20 in the expectation of getting 12 – so it depends on that as well as when those 20 make their decision. So if College X makes 20 offers and gets a yes from 15 (meaning more than they intended), no one comes off the waitlist. But if they only get a yes from 10, then slots will open.
My guess is that we’ll see some movement after the NYU decision comes out and kids start committing there, but then nothing until late May or early June. And even then, most schools are never going to let you know that they’re full up – you won’t know for sure until the day their classes start.
It’s excruciating, but given that supply exceeds seats, they have no real incentive to let you know until they’re absolutely sure there are no spots available.
