OHH MY GAWD! My S Got into TISCH! I can not believe it. Iām nervously typing this I really knew this was a REJECT out of the door (40 ppl applied from his class). I just can not believe it.
@actingdreams - congrats!! Did he receive an email with a link, or did he just check his portal?
Tired of feeling tense, nauseated, and emotionally exhausted as well.
I guess in a few months when the dust settles, we should all be able to look back and feel really proud of what took place on this journey. Even if they end up where we never planned or imagined, our kids are going to move forward and start their lives. This time will fade and fall to a memory. New doors will open and their journey will continue on!
D got waitlisted by Tisch :/. Does anyone know what are the chances of coming off the waitlist? Should she even bother, or just go ahead and commit to Syracuse?

Congrats to all acceptances! @bfa2018 I think itās too soon to give up hope on the waitlists! D1 was on 8 waitlists and D2 is on 6. D1 committed right at (actually one day after - she got an extension) the deadline. She did not come off the waitlists from her TOP TWO schools until April 29/30 respectively. Luckily, she visited both as a WL student so had a good sense for both schools. If Tisch is among Dās top choices, perhaps wait it out for a few weeks (and certainly visit if you havenāt). Those familiar with NYUās process can comment on the WL situation there.
Congrats to all the NYU acceptances! @bfa2018 ā I know two girls who came off the waitlist two years ago, but it was after the May 1st deadline.
My D was Waitlisted at Tisch as well ā which sheās fine with, since it was (still shockingly, to me and her mom) low on her list. I find it a bit odd that they didnāt Waitlist her for a specific studio ā I think if she knew she were waitlisted for, say, Adler, she might be more inclined to do so? But sheās got her #1 pretty firm in her mind, and it has been for a while, so I think sheās gonna be an Upper West Side-r for the next 4 years

@bfa2018 Iād imagine that the only penalty/opportunity cost to committing to Syracuse and accepting a waitlist at Tisch is the Syracuse deposit would be lost if she gets into NYU? If NYU is her first choice, I guess that would make sense, right?
