Big East Tournament tickets..

So I’ve decided to trek up to New York for Spring Break, and had full intentions of buying student tickets through Georgetown, but ran into two problems: 1) I have class the hour of ticket sales, and 2) there are like, 50 tickets for students.

So, with plans made and no ticket in sight, I was wondering what the best way to acquire tickets to the tournament were… I know there are some basketball (or college sports in general) loving parents out there, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Good luck! You might want to try ebay…

You will be able to find them on ebay, I have used ebay for NBA playoff tickets. It won’t be terribly cheap…read the description very carefully. Make sure you are buying the tickets/seats you want for the night and game you want to see. Tickets are generally not returnable/refundable.

tlaktan~we have season tickets for the Georgetown games, and it certainly has been an exciting season!

We have often had success getting tickets for plays in NY and baseball games through stubhub.com They are sometimes better than going through ebay–though we have used ebay for tickets, as well.

Good luck to the Hoyas in the Big East Tourney!

I thought eBay bought StubHub.

I was just on the stubhub website, and they have a variety of tickets for the Big East tournament, and also for the NCAA tournament. They aren’t necessarily cheap, but they are available. Also you don’t have to go through a bidding war to get them.

hazmat~I didn’t know that eBay bought them out, but even if they did they are still operating different websites.

http://investor.ebay.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=225333

Another strategy is to simply show up on game day and buy scalped tickets. Although I don’t know about the BE Tournament, I can tell you that, at the Big 10 tournament, you can always buy tickets on the street, particularly from the fans of teams that have just lost. You can usually get them at a discount to face value.

You might have some luck on craigslist, but stubhub would be your best bet. My husband prefers to buy tickets on the street; he feels they tend to be cheaper the day of.
