Big GPA drop for summer programs?!

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for the Yale Ivy Scholars program. Here are my grades (our school does trimesters):

FALL:

English: A-
Math: A
Computer Science: A
Latin: A
Physics: A-

And here are my grades Winter term. I skipped from a relatively easy math class to the hardest one available, and changed history and English teachers.

WINTER:

English: B+
Math: B+
History: B+
Latin: A
Physics: A-

As you can see, my GPA dropped significantly between fall and winter terms. I just wanted to know how much this is going to affect my admission into a competitive summer program like Yale Ivy Scholars. Should I even bother applying?

Side note: I attend Phillips Exeter Academy.

Thanks for your time!

Bump.

I really need an opinion on this, guys.

I’m pretty sure they look at the applicant holistically. Personally, I would give it a shot. You’ll never find out if you don’t try.
