In the beginning of this school year, I told everyone and even posted multiple times on social media regarding which schools I’m applying to and such. BIG mistake… Now everyone is always talking to me like “When you go to _…" "You’re gonna get into ,” and those kinds of things. I’m EXTREMELY worried about how literally EVERYONE I know will scream in my face on March 10th, “DID YOU GET IN???” If I don’t get in, then in addition to dealing with depressing rejections, I am going to deal with unbearable embarrassment. What should I do?
Since you prepared everyone for acceptance, try letting them know how difficult it is to get in and compare it to college admission. That will put things in perspective.
@rachmaninoff3: Whenever somebody says “When you go to__…” “You’re gonna get into ___…”, you could maybe casually mention that “There are lots of other talented kids applying to and it could go either way. I might get in, I might not.”
