My scores -
Sophomore PSAT: 189
Junior SAT: 2140
Junior ACT: 34 (2280 equivalent)
I think it really just comes down to how much you can prepare for these tests… Practice is key to getting a good score

I went to an SAT two-day bootcamp program at my school. At the end of the bootcamp, they gave us a diagnostic practice test, and then sent us our scores.

On the diagnostic, I got:
CR: 760
M:660
W:690

On the actual SAT, I got:
CR: 660 (what the heck? Guess I was too confident)
M: 770(!)
W: 760(!)

So I guess a 2110 to a 2190 isn’t that impressive, but a 660 in math to a 770 in math definitely is. So is a 690 to a 760 in writing. If I’d gotten the same score in CR as I’d gotten on the diagnostic test, that would be a 2290 which would be awesome. So now that I don’t have to worry (at all!) about W and M (which were my concerns), I’m gonna go into super CR mode. Still happy about my november scores :)

PSAT(Soph): 51 CR, 66 M, 49 W = 166
SAT (Junior): 650 CR, 690 M, 560 W = 1900 (along with a 770 Math II and a 750 on Physics)
SAT (Senior): 660 CR, 750 M, 580 W = 1990 (10 points from breaking the 2k barrier… grr…)

A 330 point improvement to a 1990. The writing sections just murders my score… Eh, at least from what I have heard, about 25% of the schools I am applying do not use the writing section, nor is it used for some merit-based scholarships.

2008 SAT 1180
2012 SAT 2130+

Significance is that score went from below 1200 to decisively above 2100, across 4 standard deviations, between age 13 to 17.

PSAT: 1250 …I know what was I thinking
1st sat : 1430 520 W 390 M 520CR
2nd SAT: 1540 510 W 500 M 490 CR
3rd SAT: 1640 580 W 510 M 550 CR

about a 390 point jump from first time it’s an improvement still not happy

Psat:140
June SAT:1800 (540 math, 630 reading, 630 writing)
Oct SAT:2090 (770 math, 680 reading, 640 writing)

:) I increased my math score with Barrons.

PSAT Oct. 2010 - 180

540 overall increase. It is possible!

Mock SAT early 2011 (10th grade) - 1820
Dec 1 SAT - 2350

530 point increase

PSAT 2010 - 185

SAT Dec. 2012 - 2230 (760cr, 720m, 750w, 11e)

Difference between my first PSAT and my last SAT is 380, or 430 if I superscore. Difference between my SATs is only 170 though, 220 if superscored.

PSAT 2010: 105 (hahahahahahah)
SAT 2011: 1800
SAT 2012: 2100

Impossible is nothing

Jan SAT- 580 CR 610 M 610 W- 1800 total

Oct SAT- 650 CR 700 M 760 W- 2110 total

310 point increase, just from taking the blue book practice tests!

This is amazing, this thread has given me so much hope and motivation

First SAT practice test: 1920

Actual SAT, after taking 11 practice tests: (first and only time taking the SAT)

2350

It’s a system, and anyone can beat it. The SAT doesn’t test anything but how well you can test, and that’s a skill that can be developed just like anything else.

from 1240 to 1840
