Yes to Dumbo. I’ll never forget ds1 crying at The Fox and the Hound, “Why can’t they still be friends?”

I am not much of a crier but for some reason I sob uncontrollably at “Homeward Bound” (yes, the Disney movie with the talking dogs and cats). When the golden retriever comes limping up the hill at the end - well, I’m a mess even thinking about it. I am such a loser…

@scout, I think we can guess your movie ;)

Oh yes, Imitation of Life always gets me. Just watched that scene where Annie sees Sarah Jane for the last time (when she screams “I’m white! White!” and tells her mother not to know her if they pass on the street–that 2 minute clip still set off the tears). Also Terms of Endearment when Debra Winger says good bye to her kids. Gone with the Wind used to get me with the scenes after Bonnie Blue’s death. Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve. I’ll also agree with ET and It’s a Wonderful Life. An Affair to Remember.

A lot of older movies! I have a hard time thinking of one I have seen recently that made me cry…I don’t know if that is because the movies haven’t been good enough to move me or maybe I am just less “moveable” with age?

Goodbye Solo

Life is Beautiful

Buongiorno Principessa!

bearpanther, have you seen The Notebook?

Have to agree with Toy Story 3 as one of my most memorable tear jerker moments. Watched it in the theater about a month before S left for college and wept like a baby. Not just tears, but BAWLING!!!

Another “sweet” tears moment in a movie - Parent Trap w/Lindsay Lohan (no, didn’t cry BECAUSE it was her…)- the moment when she tells her mom that she is “Annie”…roll the tears!!! And when Chessie realizes she is “Hallie” - more kleenex!!!

GMT: You just made me cry. :((

abasket - that part of “The Parent Trap” always makes me tear up, too!

I haven’t seen most of the movies on the list. . .Big yes to To Kill a Mockingbird and Up, another vote for Dumbo.
A couple more sad animal stories: The Yearling, and Where the Red Fern Grows.
Anyone remember How Green Was My Valley?-- I haven’t seen it in awhile, but remember it as a real sob-fest.
A French Movie “My Mother’s Castle” (ending).
The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (British, funny in parts, but the ending left me depressed for days–probably tears of anger/frustration more than sadness.)
The Best Years of our Lives

Just remembered another … Spencer’s Mountain. When the grandpa dies.

I haven’t seen it-- you just ruined it for me! :((

I don’t tell you how he dies. He was ancient. You know it had to happen from the first time you see him! lol

Philadelphia, Brokeback Mountain, Angels in America, Beaches and Brian’s Song bring tears to my eyes just thinking about them.

I think the time when I saw movies made a difference. Dumbo and Bambi came out when I was little, and the thought of losing a parent!!!

Terms of Endearment came out when I was battling cancer. I couldn’t see that movie for 10 years. When Shirley McLean pleads for pain meds, and Deborah says good byes, takes me too far back into memory lane.

I saw both in theaters, after becoming a mom, but I cried so at Le Miz and Miss Saigon. When Ms Saigon gives up her life so that her son could be able to move to America, I ran out of tissues, and had to use hem of my dress.

Life is Beautiful. OMG, so many feels

I usually like comedies but I think Broke back Mountain by Ang Li and Life is beautiful are my most recent movies. But I do get teary eyed at Robert Redford and Barbara Streisand movie, just can’t remember the title, another love story, especially when they met briefly in NY city.

It should be *My most recent teary eyed movie.
