Bike Lock - Not Kryptonite?

Well even ghetto ones can be targets… especially if its a older road bike (can be easily made into nice fixies).

About your wheel, sounds like you have a little leak in your inner tube, get a simple patch kit and you’ll fix it easily. Google how to do it as there’s plenty of sites out there with pictures too!

So if I get a mountain bike it’s less likely to get stolen than a fixie or a road bike?

@kewlosaurusrex

It depends but it doesn’t mean you should skimp on a lock if you plan on keeping it.

well I tried putting it in water… TOO MANY BUBBLES FROM TOO MANY PLACES lol

Yea your better off just replacing it with the right size… if you’re not sure on the size take it to a bike shop to take the guess work out of it… walmart’s not going to help you choose it for shiet…

I have a Bianchi Pista and I’m living at the village, should I invest in a Kryptonite NYC lock just to be safe?

All of my parts are stock pretty much, no fancy wheels or seat.

@audioslavery

Although its always recommended to store your bike inside over outside (especially for long periods of time); aside from that a evolution 4 will do the trick just fine… but hey if buying the NYC lock gives you piece of mind, go ahead and get it, your money… Just don’t forget to buy an accessory cable too.

alright replaced the wheel with some new gel one.

[Amazon.com: Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2 Standard Bicycle U-Lock (4-inch x 9-inch) with 4-Foot Flex Cable: Sports & Outdoors](http://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Kryptolok-Standard-Bicycle-U-Lock/dp/B0010XTIB8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1283619229&sr=8-1)

this one alright? It’s cheapest lol

Errr the difference from a series ~4~ lock combo is not that much on amazon… although I wouldn’t recommend personally that lock you posted.

so I should get that evo 4 (sounds like a mitsubishi lancer model lol) that you mentioned earlier huh? I’ll search.

made me lol

Could we bring our bike in our dorm? Is there anything against that?

^It depends I guess. I was in Warren and two of us brought our bikes inside our common room every once and while. I’d generally say it’s most likely ok.

Wasn’t the Kryptonite hacked by a Bic pen a few years ago?

@sunfish

That model has long been cast down long ago, 7 years ago rofl… Kryptonite even replaced those bad locks for free. Since then Kryptonite has abandoned the barrel lock technology all together and went for laser cut keys and barrels. Meaning there’s an infinite number of key combinations…

leuky is like the god of this thread.

Bought a kryptonite dude, I feel safe. Especially w/ that $1500 anti-theft thing

Don’t forget to register the lock & key! ;)

like online right? I’ll make sure.

Yea, there should be instructions on how to do it in the little manuals that came with it.
