I got no response on a Michigan Parent Facebook page, so I thought I would ask here:
Is there a convenient way to bike between North and Central campus?
Trying to figure out if it’s worth the hassle to bring the bike. (FWIW My D is an experienced biker in a large city - so she is comfortable biking with traffic, usually in a bike lane.)
Not what you’re thinking. There are ways to do it to main /central then bike lanes but if she’s not comfortable on main road then no. She can rent a bike by day or semester (long run cheaper) if she decides she can do it or just wants to bike around.
She can bike Plymouth road from North to Main /central but I can’t remember if there are sides walks all the way.
Lol. Sorry just thinking. She can take the regular non blue city busses also free for student’s and load her bike to central campus. She can register her bike as recommended. She is fine on main roads. She bikes all around our city (which I actually think might be the same as yours based on a few of your posts) but there are bike lanes on most of the major roads. I can’t recall if that’s true for Ann Arbor
I don’t think on North but housing or safety might be able to help more. Yep Chicago has bike lanes. Just have to keep the driver’s out of them. I live by Wrigley, the lanes are everywhere. Lol

If they’re comfortable sharing the road with cars for a couple of short stretches then I’d say bring the bike. But the majority of folks seems to use the buses for that route. Also consider weather!
