In 1984, Quaaludes were classified as a schedule One drug.
That means that:
Are quaaludes (a sedative) supposed to be an aphrodisiac? Why would someone want to give someone a quaalude (assuming he claims it’s for heightened sex) if it’s sort of knocking you out? As a person who has never taken one, maybe there’s a loophole in my reasoning.
The article I read said that he had SEVEN prescriptions for them. That is a LOT of sedation.
Quaaludes are hella strong.
They are not an aphrodisiac, they are a hypnotic/sedative, and muscle relaxant, although people suffering from anxiety ( possibly because they are cheating on their spouse?) may report increased sexual arousal.
My father was prescribed them in the 1970’s, I believe for sleep, but he died from an accidental overdose in 1975.
They are dangerous to take yourself, especially for recreational purposes, and anyone who ever gave them secretly to someone else should be charged with attempted murder.
I have to think that he either really had a thing with them being really out of it, or he had some sort of weird “if they don’t know we did it then I didn’t really cheat on my wife” thing. I mean, he was rich/famous enough to get sex without the drugs.
I also wonder, how were there no pregnancies resulting?
Whoopi: "I don’t like snap judgments.”
Well, I’m sure there are people going thru youtube videos finding examples of her making snap judgements about people who’ve been accused, but not yet convicted.
I also wonder, how were there no pregnancies resulting?*
I don’t think we know that there weren’t.
Cosby may have also had a vasectomy, as would be prudent for anyone who had a hobby of being a serial rapist, or the women may have been on birth control pills/terminated the pregnancy.
@emeraldkity4 - I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s accidental overdose. How awful for all of you that loved him.
@movemetoo yes, I’ve wondered that about wanting them unresponsive. That has to be some sort of fetish. He doesn’t seem to really want them engaged. Did you ever hear the comedy routine from the 70s or 80s when he talked about giving Spanish fly to women?
Spanish fly routine (less than 3 min):

That was disturbing. Equally disturbing was the number of people who seemed to find it hilarious. I know it was awhile back, but ick.
There was also a youtube of an interview with him and Larry King yukking it up about boys and their dreams of Spanish fly. Gross.
It bothers me how an admission of guilt was required for some people to believe his rape allegation. If that was the standard for everyone, there would not be a single rapist sitting in prison.
This may not be an entirely accurate depiction of the effects, but * The Wolf of Wall Street * taught me a lot about quaaludes lol.
He also had another weird fetishy-thing. If you read all the complaints, he wanted a lot of the women to have wet hair.
At least he never asked them to put pale white make-up on and act dead. OR DID HE??? 8-X
When you’re in the morgue you have wet hair, right? All slicked back? I couldn’t help it but my mind went there with some of the things he wanted…
I’m not suprised, but I am sad. I think I’m sad for my own innocence.
Kudos to Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. They are considering removing a mural with Bill Cosby in it. They say it was crumbling and on the removal list, and they are just moving it higher on the list.
Disney just took down a statue too.
Cosby no longer has a talent agency in Hollywood.
But his wife still stand firmly behind him and does not believe the allegations of drugging and raping women. Cheating, yes, but nothing else.

How many women at the Playboy Mansion were drugged and then raped by other famous men?
How is that supposed to be ok? Playboy mention or Cosby. But I think a lot of young women trust Bill as Dr Huxtable, the father figure, I’m sure those playboy bunnies didn’t have that trust with Hugh Hefner. They went in with wide opened eyes.
