Only murders in the building.
McDonald and Dodds, Scott and Bailey, Shetland, and Vera.
This is the one I signed up for
Iâve been rewatching Six Feet Under - and as I started season 5, I realized nothing was familiar! I think years ago, I mustâve watched the first four seasons, maybe from the library, then didnât have HBO so never saw the final season.
Good thing I needed a good cry (or ten), because itâs an emotional season. It has one of the best final episodes of any series Iâve ever watched.
Sigh. Itâs always so hard to move on from the characters after youâre so invested. Time for something lighter next.
Slow Horses started yesterday on Apple+. Two episodes were released and I think a new one drops every Tuesday. Such a great show! Gary Oldman is fantastic.
Wow I hadnât realized it was there already, thank you!
H and I have will finish up Lessons in Chemistry tonight. I convinced him to watch it since I told him how much I enjoyed the book and I am happy to say that he likes the series!
I recommended it to my son and his fiancée, a Syrian in STEM. She said they really liked it, too.
I really liked the show but feel itâd have benefitted from 9 episodes because ep8 felt rushed, like it did not expand enough to fully pay off (grandma, the pastor, the highway).
OOOO! Thanks for the heads up. Slow Horses is one of my faves.
We accidentally started watching an old episode and I thought, huh, that actor looks familiar. Sure enough, it was Sam West, a friend of my BFFâs brother who passed away. I attended the memorial service and West spoke at it. Seems like a good guy.
Definitely The Bear. Tiny Beautiful Things, Dropout, Dopesick, Under the Banner of Heaven, The Accident, Welcome to Chippendales, and of course, Handmaidâs Tale.
I watch the new episodes. Itâs as great as ever. This is a show thatâs probably better bingeing, but Iâm too impatient to wait.
Iâm having trouble finding Killing Eve. Any ideas? We watched some of it recently on Pluto but could not access more of the seasons.
Yay, second season of Fisk is on Netflix!
From Justwatch, it looks like all four seasons of Killing Eve are streaming on AMC+ via Amazon Prime Video.
We just binged Unbelievable. I think it came out in 2019 or 2020. Very good.
Finished off the Beckham documentary last nightâŠyou donât have to be a soccer lover (but it helps!) to really like this series. Really interesting dive into his upbringing, his career, his (continuing) relationship with Victoria, his life now. Highly recommend, even if youâre not a sports fan.
Weâve started watching âSix Feet Underâ. I had no idea it was so old! LOL. Obviously itâs a classic as many recommendations it still gets. We do like it.
We also started this yearâs âFargoâ. Weird as ever. LOL.
Second the rec for Beckham doc; Iâm also not into soccer/football, and not into celebrities or People magazine type stuff, but it was very interesting, well done, and not sensationalistic. The impact of his childhood, going into the football system at such a young age, and the wild swings of how the fans behaved towards him across different years and events was something to see.
I also just finished Deadloch - which is bananas! Some of the characters are so very off putting! The Australian accents and the bawdy swearing was at first a bit much, but then became actually (dare I say it) endearing? Hilarious?
âFunny Broadchurchâ is an apt description, itâs laugh out loud funny at times and the dark humor is very dark at other times; donât read or watch previews before you start, and get through your (perhaps) initial distaste of various characters and just go for the ride. Itâs wild.
