Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

I think(?) that our Comcast/Infiniti cable allows on-demand viewing of network shows.

You can watch network shows on demand with Comcast, but commercials cannot be skipped. Instead we record them on DVR so we can fast forward through them.

Help me here. This is what I found for Freedom House: It is best known for political advocacy surrounding issues of democracy, political freedom, and human rights

Could there be another name?

I think that’s it

Should definitely be a movie!

This is a very good article, including the details of the extensive training these men received. My one issue with it is that it white-washes the extent and effect of racism on the demise of Freedom House and how many black men were intentionally stripped of any opportunity to continue to use the incredible skills they had developed in support of their own impoverished community.

I’m glad others have found this story interesting, and tying it back to The Pitt, I think it’s awesome that the writers included Freedom House in the script and highlighted how well-trained these men were (via Willie’s recall of medical jargon and procedures despite his dementia.)

Anyone here watch Yellowjackets? We are 4 episodes in. It was recommended by our neighbor who has common tastes in shows. So far it’s a mean girls turned into the Lord of the Flies with an element of the supernatural mixed in. Sometime in the 1990s a girls soccer team - en route to a national tournament - plane crashes and they had to survive 19 months. It keeps flipping back between then and the current time period. It works well thus far.

Next week starts the new Daredevil. H has been looking forward to this for a long time. Same cast as the Netflix series. Same writers too, I believe. For his sake and mine, I hope Disney doesn’t muck this one up. The interviews with the cast seem promising. Fingers crossed

And my confession… I’ve been trying to find more German shows. There aren’t a ton- I’ve done the Empress both seasons and not interested in Dark. So I started ā€œLove is Blind Germany.ā€ Omg. I loathe such shows in English, but wow is the dialog so different. So fast. So much slang. I figure it’s good for me. And I hate to admit it, but the end of the first episode I was wanting to know what happens next.

We started yellowjackets when it for came out so we’ve been waiting a long time for season 3! We are trying not to watch too much because they only drop 1 a week. Love it.

My wife was playing tennis last night so I couldn’t watch any of our shows without her. When I scrolled through the guide I found Ozark Law on A&E. It follows the Lake Ozark Police Department and Osage Beach Police Department during the summer season on the lake. It’s only one season, but that’s not why I’m posting here.

For fans of the series Ozark I’m pleased to report that in Lake of the Ozarks someone opened a bar called Marty Byrde’s.

I started Running Point, the new series with Kate Hudson on Netflix last night. She takes over as president of her family’s pro basketball franchise. It was created by Mindy Kaling. 10 episodes and I’ve watched 6 of them - really enjoying!

Watched a few episodes of Doc after seeing your mention. I’m a big Molly Parker fan so can’t believe it wasn’t on my radar. I’m all in based on what I’ve seen so far. Thanks!

Apparently, it was renewed with a record number- 22 - new episodes for the next season!

Glad you liked it. I tuned in killing time while waiting for my husband to come back from his business trip and was hooked!

Nothing could stand in the way of us watching ER! Ditto Medium and Lost.

Watched episode 4 of Reacher last night and decided the star must be contractually required to appear in the bare minimum at least once each episode. Not that I’m complaining! It certainly shows a close match to the book description.

Reacher is described as being 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 210–250 pounds, and having a 50-inch chest. In Never Go Back, he is described as having ā€œa six-pack like a cobbled city street, a chest like a suit of NFL armor, biceps like basketballs, and subcutaneous fat like a Kleenex tissue.ā€

I liked it too, especially ā€œfirst dayā€ which is how far I got into the episodes. :+1: Thanks for the recommendation!
