This is the official discussion thread for Binghamton Class of 2030 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
I have started to hear that some students who were deferrred to RD are starting to receive decisions this week.
Still waiting here! My ‘24 was waitlisted on 3/28. Praying ‘26 kiddo gets better news soon:)
Good luck to those waiting on decisions!
Has any instate, deferred from EA student received a decsion from Watson yet?
I have heard deferred to RD students have been admitted to Harper and SOM so far this month.
But I wonder if anyone deferred from Watson has gotten an update since January.
I haven’t seen any posts for Watson acceptances on FB. We are still waiting for SOM / Instate:( Seems like forever. Hopefully this week! Wishing all of us some luck!![]()
Does anyone know what day of the week they send out the rolling ED decisions? And is it the same for everyone or do those deferred from EA have a different process?
I have no idea but it seems some were released tonight. My son has been waiting for 5 months, I just want him to move one.
Child was deferred and then rejected Friday:(
I’m so sorry. This has been such a difficult cycle.
Binghamton really needs to adopt a single decision date like UMass Amherst did a couple of years ago. This dragged on for so long for so many instate students ( we still haven’t heard but we assume it’s going to be a No and S26 has moved on anyway)
Thanks! Definitely a rough cycle!! My daughter got put on Bing waitlist 2 years ago after a deferral. They called her cell on 5/13 and asked for a verbal within 24hrs
, and by then she had moved on. Stinks:( I think our kiddos applied to a few of the same, since I saw ya on a few others. Good luck to your kiddo!! Wishing you luck for Bing!!!
Heard back last night. S26 was waitlisted for Watson after being deferred in EA.
He had moved on anyway and he has 2 other great choices for engineering that are similar cost to instate.
I am sure yours will thrive at the school they end up at!
Definitely rough cycle:( Our two close family friends are both waitlisted as well, and one is really super high stats. Both instate. It’s crazy. They both have moved on as well. It stinks, especially since such an affordable option for in-staters. My son got into Stony, but doesn’t seem to want to since it seems more commuter-friendly. We are close…he wants further, so I get it. Best wishes to your child:) I know they will all do great…just stressful getting there ![]()
