can someone tell me the differences between the bio programs at ucla and cal? i’m still trying to decide which school i want to go to (i got into cal as a spring admit, though, so that might put me behind?).

go to Cal. i don’t know why the **** people keep thinking that spring admit is complete ****. IT’S NOT!

i don’t think it’s complete ****. just weighing my options :\ can you give me concrete reasons as to why you think i should go for cal rather than la?

The biology is probably more the less the same. You should probably make your decision based on where you live now (do you want to be close or far from home) and which campus has the better ‘feel’ (though i hate the idea of ‘feels’). I think you will be probably happy at either school.

There are about 19 different bio majors you can choose at Cal. I dunno how many LA can offer you.

LA offers a lot too. OP, if you want me to compile them for both schools, I can.

OP, what kind of bio are you interested in?

Also spring admission, only puts you a semester “behind” in Chem. You can easily make it up by taking Chem 3A summer 09 OR by taking Bio 1A or Chem 3B summer 10.

Also you’re not really behind unless you’re a double major, when you may need to get into upper divs earlier.
You’ll get breadth and/or R&C done early in fall extension (FPF) while your other bio major friends will be just taking major prerequisites
