Bio: Scaling 120-question score to 100-question score

I took the 1999 released exam, which is 120 questions long. How would I scale my score to determine what range I’d be in for the 100-question exam?

Can’t I just cross-multiply and solve for x:
n/120 = x/100 … where n is the number of questions I get right on the 1999 exam?

Yes…? Is there another way?..

That’s what our teacher did to calculate our grades for our practice tests

multiply by 5/6 or .83?
