1 I’m international applicant from Asia.
2 I know I have to boost up my SAT1 scores.
3 My GPA crawls in the bottom, do I still have chances since my school does not rank the students?
4 My primary distinction is biology activities and academic honors. I’ve already secured rec. from professor.
5 Any comments on my college selection would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Word of advice: Unless you are from Calif, NONE of the UC’s should be considered a safety or match for you.

Wow, your stats are amazing. I’d say you definitely have a big chance at stanford. Good luck!
Chance me please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=363142</a> My stats are not as great but look at them anyways XD

I will apply for financial aids for: Harvard, Williams, Rice, JHU, GTech, and UCSD. Please take that into account. Thanks.

Really menloparkmom? Hmm. That’s a new information. Thank you for a comment.

The UC’s are mandated by Calif law to accept all top qualified Calif students. They are public universities, funded by the taxpayers of Calif. Only about 10% of OOS or international applicants are accepted at any UC’s, so the chances will be about the same as they would be for Stanford.

Wow. I didn’t know that. Hmm, it would be hardcore-crazy war for me to get in UCB XP

Maybe. Your stats ARE impressive, but you need to go in with your eyes wide open, and not “count” on getting in. I think you need to expand your list to find some real safeties, which means adding more mid level private universities to your list. Brown, Rice, Johns Hopkins are not “matches” for any international students these days, let alone top students from the US. There is a huge crush of US “baby-boomlet” applicants applying to colleges next year- far more than even 4 years ago, so it is more competative than it has been in many years. Just though you should know, ESPECIALLY since you are also applying for financial aid, which not very many universities, except the very tip-top, offer to international students. I would post a question on both the CC parents board and well as the financial aid board, asking which Universities offer financial aid to international students, and build your safety list from there up.
