Bioengineering Major Question

Hey guys,
Im planning on applying to Rice Univ. for Bioengineering major and i was wondering if EC’s such as Clinical Rotation, Shadowing A Doctor, Research, Internships at the Hospital/Doctor offices, and technology-related EC’s such as a tech committee show that i have a passion for Bioengineering? I’m thinking it shows more of a medicine passion but… i need opinions

bioengineering is not medicine
it is not biology
its engineering.
i think it certainly helps but a difficult curriculum in math/physics or perhaps awards or participation in mathematics/science competitions also help.
