Before I begin, please don’t discuss the pros/cons of undergraduate BioE/BME as this has been discussed numerous times in other threads. Contribute to this thread assuming that this major is a certainty, but the school is not.

This thread is exactly what the title suggests, a list of Bioengineering programs that have the best industry value and visibility. I know that there are rankings of BioE programs, but this seems to be mostly influenced by research. I’m not saying that focus on research precludes industry involvement, quite the opposite usually, but it would be nice to have some idea where these programs fall strictly in an industrial viewpoint. So this thread is trying to name programs that seem to have greater success with industry placement for their graduates. Level of position is also an important consideration (lab tech vs engineer). It might be helpful to also name well-known programs that don’t do so well in industry placement, just for comparison.

On a side note, I will be pursuing a Master’s in BioE from UCSD. I was trying to pick a school that was higher on the industrial scale, and I was wondering if anyone has evidence out there, even anecdotal, of UCSD’s industry value.

So if you have any info on this topic, please feel free to share it.
