Biola or APU

I just want to know which school is better over all because they both seem like really good schools that are neck to neck.

please someone reply i’m desperate

I don’t know that you can ever say one school or another is better overall. I think a lot depends on a particular major and professors within it as well as “fit” for the student.

With Christian schools, are you looking at “better overall” for Christian atmosphere or academics? If it’s Christian atmosphere, are you conservative, liberal, or in the middle leaning one way or the other?

If academic, then a quick comparison can be done with collegeboards SAT/ACT scores, but again, this is limited as overall, there is quite a range.

Biola CR 500-620, M 490-620, WR 500-610, ACT 21-26
AP CR 490-590, M 490-600, WR N/A ACT 21-26

For what it’s worth, compared to many eastern US Christian schools, neither rank very highly academically, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t the perfect school for close to 8000 students who go to them. SAT/ACT only tells you predicted academic ability, and therefore, the rough level of fellow students in your classes. If your scores are in their middle levels, you should feel at home. If your scores are higher, you might feel underchallenged. If your scores are lower, you might be overchallenged. It won’t mean diddly to graduates hunting for jobs. Visit the schools and see which YOU prefer. Then pray and let God lead.

Thank you so much for your help but I would like to know which school is better spritually

Visit and talk with the professors and students - and pray.

In EVERY Christian school there will be those that go there who are solid about their faith and want the Christian atmosphere. Then there will be those that go there simply because mom and dad told them to, but their faith isn’t really strong - or, in some cases, even existent.

In EVERY Christian school you are likely to get students who range from conservative to liberal and everything in between.

So… you really ought to check out the professors and compare them to your thoughts/beliefs. This can differ even based on which major you choose.

Different people have different thoughts when one says, “best spiritually.” My gut instinct would suggest Biola from my perspective, but it’s purely based on other posts on here - not from personal knowledge. If my sons were considering either, a visit would be necessary. There are things that God is best at answering personally.
