<p>As to advantage in admissions, most schools in most subjects will advise graduates to go elsewhere for graduate school, to get a new perspective. However, some areas of study commonly have grads stay for longer. Many people who go to MIT get three degrees int he same field from MIT. In anthropology, I’d say it might give you an edge in getting in if you are favored politically by the department, but by that time, you might want to go to someplace with new resources for you. Or maybe not. It all depends on you.</p>
