Biology 2010 Prep

I finally found released student responses. Here is how responses should be written: <a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

So yes, you are supposed to divide your answer into sub-sections (a, b, c, etc.). Every review book mentions this, and your teacher should have told you as well. If you don’t, I’m not sure what the result will be, but it certainly will tick your reader off, if they even attempt to grade it.

Does the AP ever curve people down?? I got a 65 on SeekingUni’s scale , should i be confident in a 5??

^I suppose the curve can go down, but I don’t think this year’s test was that easy that the curve would be harsh.

SeekingUni said to me that that’s your score without the curve, so the curve can only help.

I don’t know how accurate the statement is, but…

Is 4 points to much of a curve or not guys?

-also, so based on what it says on the guidelines, whoever sais you can still possibly get a really high score (like an 8) on a free response even if you skip a section was right

The chances of the curve going DOWN are slim, and usually only occur if you’re on the lower end of the bell curve and did pretty poorly. If you got below a 3 according to the non-curve scale, you may risk going down, but it’s pretty unlikely.

So if u get a 59 or 60 on Seeking Uni’s curve you would almost definetly get a 5, right??

So what have you guys been doing in your AP biology classes now that the exam is over?

In my class we are having every other day be a movie day, and then the other day being a ‘study’ hall/social hour.

We have to write 5 page papers on the biochemistry of oil spills (ie the effect of methane, how bacteria neutrilize the oil …) it sux!

I find that application of one’s abstract knowledge to real-life problems is quite fun, actually.

And in my class, we are completing all the labs we did not do before the exam, a number that currently stands at 7.

Oh and my class is going to the zoo next week friday :D

Can someone please answer my question??

Our class has an animal behavior project for our final, but it is easy. In class, we are just watching movies and stuff like Finding Nemo, haha.

We’re watching Gattaca, and Outbreak since they’re two biology-related movies that my teacher likes. We might watch Avatar at the end of the year

@JalliDalli - You get a maximum amount of points for different parts of a question, so you can completely miss a section and still get ~8 points given that you score well on the rest of the question. And I don’t know whether or not a 4 point curve is too much or too little, that’s up to the chief reader to decide, but I like to be conservative with my score estimates and not include any curve.

Harambee, We are also watching those two movies!

^Cool! I’ve enjoyed watching them so far.

Yeah we start Gattaca next week, and outbreak sometime after that. Gattaca is my teacher’s favorite movie.

ksarmand: thats why your goin to Harvard!!

were watching john q since it deals with health insurance…
