Biology and Sociology: How can I do both?

My problem is that I really REALLY like Sociology and Biology.

Biology focuses on cell, and evolution. Sociology on group interactions.
Biology covers the general of all life science, as sociology is for social science.
I’m that kind of person who likes to learn about everything.

At first glance, it may seem easy to see the connection between the majors; Sociologist study humans and humans are organism.
However, the careers are really different. For biology, I would like to become a researcher but I don’t find being stuck in a lab all day so fun. For sociology, I can be happy studying people but I don’t see myself making a big difference.
It’s basically studying between Nature versus Nurture and I love them both.

So I’ve decided to do a combined major in Sociology and Biology.
My question is whether or not is there a career out there that satisfies me?

Connections I have found between them:
Crimnology
Public Health
Environmental Science

Can one person have two careers?
In the end, should I just be a research scientist and later start a business?

Public health looks like the best choice of the three connections you listed. Take a look at an MPH program with an emphasis on Epidemiology. I think you could certainly combine Sociology and Biology in such a fashion.

Thanks, I’ll keep that option open and in mind, I have been doing a lot of work already in Public Health.

I just found more connection that makes me feel more excited about them veing connected.
Behavioral and Human Ecology and Sociobiology (duh!) are more connections between Sociology and Biology!
I think this is the direction I want to go in.
