Biology Major (B.S.) - Class Selection at UTD

Hey everyone,

I’m kind of struggling to select classes for my first year and onwards at UTD. I will be an Honors student in the Collegium V Honors program as well. I will be on the pre-med track as well.

Could I please get some assistance regarding class selection?

I currently have 5’s in AP Statistics, Calculus AB, Psychology, English Language & Composition, U.S. History, World History, Computer Science Principles, Chemistry, and Biology. I also have D.E. Credit from Collin College in the courses Eng 2332 and 2333.

In addition, I took multiple AP exams senior year, which I expect to get 4-5’s on, and will be transferable for credit. (AP U.S. Government, Calculus BC, Environmental Science, Macroeconomics).

To my understanding, I cannot use any Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, or Statistics credits, as many medical schools recommend taking these classes within college.

You need to talk to your advisor at UTD!

If you haven’t yet, you will soon meet with your CV adviser.
In the meantime, you could look into the course schedule system at UTD and build a schedule like this:
CV freshman seminar
General Biology with Honors Lab
Honors Psychology
Spanish (or other foreign language) through the …“for health professions” level
Biostatistics
