Hello Guys! I am an international student. I have two passions:biology and drawing. But I don’t know how I can mix such fields. Recently I ve read about neuro architecture (mix of neurobiology and architecture) may be it’s the key of my problem. May be smb can help and give some tips?(please) but which university should I choose? (My top are MIT and Princeton,Is it really to be got accepted on it or I can simple waste my time)
I am very puzzled, give some advice please
P.s advanced thanks)
You should worry about getting in first. In addition, you don’t declare a major until you’re already a student there, so this question is rather early.
Try learning how to do scientific/technical drawings. There is always a demand for this sort of thing, either computer graphics (for molecular or cellular biology) or good old pen-and-ink drawing (for botany, wildlife biology, natural history). A lot of people who are into the natural history side of biology are really good at drawing, but it is a skill you probably would learn separate from the biology side. Look for a school with a good art program and a good biology program.
Thank you very much))
Thank you for you tips)))But which university is fit me ?May be MIT or Princeton? What do you think about it? What chances is to be got accepted for international student? Is it really?
Have you ever heard about neuro architecture?
“But which university is fit me ?May be MIT or Princeton”
With under a 5% admit rate for internationals, asking about “FIT” seems to be strange. Would you NOT apply to either if somehow you felt the “fit” wasn’t right for you? Otherwise, you’re being pre-mature.
By this I mean that this universities have a good architecture and biology program
@michaela99 - Are you interested in Biological/Medical illustration?
Here is a description of a grad program at John Hopkins University which describes one of their majors (which you might be interested in looking at for reference to an undergraduate degree) http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/medart/ . Here is an undergraduate program combining biology and art http://www.bpmi.iastate.edu/ (and some of the graduates from this program are receiving their masters from John Hopkins U).
Thank you
