HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

just start emailing – take a look at some college websites (doesn’t matter which one, since you will be emailing) and get to the department’s website and read about the staff. Try to find a professor that you have a connection with (has traveled to India, loves cats, is 4 feet tall, whatever) so that you can mention it in your email and make it a little more personal. Expect to have to email alot of people to find one – but persistence will pay off.

ahh okay, yeah i was eventually going to do that if no one i knew (counselors and teachers at school) knew of a professor.

thanks though, and also, i dont exactly know how to write that kind of letter…any ideas?

dear…professor,

my name is … i was interested in an independent study correspondence with you and for you to supply me with and help me through a research project?

haha according to that, the email will be quite short.
