How time consuming are the biology seminars? I would really like to take one but I do not know what’s involved really. All I know it’s pass/fail

I’ve taken two biology seminars. From my experience, they weren’t too time-consuming.

Attendance was mandatory.

There were weekly readings and, occasionally, ungraded homework assignments.

Class discussions were highly encouraged (the seminars are usually pretty small).

Student/group presentations were required (around the end of the semester).

The list above is based on my experiences in both of the biology seminars I took; it may or may not be representative of all biology seminars…Yep, this is my little disclaimer. :)

Is there a difference if you take it during fall or spring?

^Well, I took both in the fall…so I’m not sure if there is a difference.

Also, I forgot to mention that I highly recommend BIONB 1250 with Prof. Calvo and Prof. Johnson. :)
