<p>Ok, so from scientists I’d mention:</p>

<p>Mendel-set the basics of modern genetics from his pea plants experiments
Lamarck-proposed that acquired traits could be passed to offspring
Watson & Crick-built the double-stranded DNA model
Hardy & Weinberg-derived a principle to maintain a population equilibrium
Darwin-proposed evolutionary theories which incorporated natural selection, competition etc.
Morgan-studied inheritance of mutations, particulary with the Drosophila
De Vries-confirmed Mendel’s work by experimenting with different plants</p>

<p>Diseases, not much actually :(</p>

<p>Malaria-caused by plasmodium, a protist
AIDS-caused by HIV, a RNA virus
Emphysema-lung alveoli disease, caused by exposure to tobacco smoke
Goiter-swelling of the thyroid gland, caused by iodine deficiency
Diabetes mellitus-caused by deficiency of insulin or deficiency of cells to respond to insulin</p>

<p>Peculiar terms</p>

<p>Setae-kind of legs for temporary anchorage in annelida
Okazaki fragments-segments formed during DNA replication, on the lagging strand due to inability of DNA Polymerase to replicate 3’ to 5’.
Leydig cells-secrete testosterone, located in testes
Tetrodotoxin-chemical that blocks the sodium channels of body cells
Indoleacetic acid-an auxin related to phototropism</p>

<p>This list of terms is good, but the “Peculiar terms” section is completely unnecessary. I took it this January with an 800.</p>

I’m planning to take E as well.</p>

<p>E is actually considered the harder of the two exams (statistically at least)…hmm, idk, just know Biology really well i guess.</p>

<p>ohh, yeah, sorry, but some of the terms in “Peculiar terms” will need to be known …i think,…I mean, I read them again, and I realized that knew them, lol.</p>

<p>You know, the mean score for E is lower because more and more take E only because they’ve heard that E is easier, which turns up to be incorrect.</p>
